The DameritzSeehotel was a big disappointment. The 2 very narrow beds sit together in the center of the wide room; when I leaned back on the bed to read, the entire bed squeaked. There wasonly 1 pillow per bed. There was no safe in the room. There was not a coffee pot or kettle in the room. There was a multi-purpose soap/shampoo that caused my skin to itch terribly. I had to go to the nearby drugstore to get shampoo, soap and body lotion. The breakfast buffet, an additional 15 euro per person, was already depleted of cheeses at 9:30 am. There were no coffee or tea cups at that hour. We ordered scrambled eggs - they were good but it took 20 minutes toget them. We asked for a room that faced the lake but were given one that faced the street. The staff was nice. The management doesn't seem to care about the customer. Not recommended

We booked a room for one night at short notice, because there were few alternatives. The hotel is showing its age, and there appears to be little effort made to maintain or update it. Our room (52) was large and, although it faced away from the lake, remained quiet as the road outside has little traffic. The bed was comfortable; it was oddly placed in the middle of the room, presumably to stop guests from banging their heads on the sloped ceiling. One bedside light didn’t work, but otherwise everything functioned. The shower cabin was too small. The lakeside terrace was a pleasant enough place to sit, but it was not well maintained. The breakfast selection was adequate but nothing out of the ordinary. Apart from one waitress who was obviously having a bad day, hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Would I stay here if I returned to the area? No, I think not.

Looking for a bar

We were looking for a bar to watch a football game and decided to pass by this hotel and asked. A person, who we think is the Manager, told us that the bar has Tvs and we could turn on the cable in order for us to watch the game. It was very nice from their part, even a lady in the office told him the info about the game and the channel. We had some drinks which prices were average; the bartender was always on top of everything, very nice people and excellent service. We did feel that even though we were not hotel guests, they did care about us; can you imagine the quality service for hotel guests is? It has to be excellent!. We highly recommend this hotel.

+ Nice location right at the lake + Modern rooms (if you get one of the renovated ones) + Interior of the hotel needs an upgrade (not really consistent, partially outdated) + Good restaurant + Good breakfast buffet (though to be enlarged) - not all rooms and areas have seen the upgrade yet - Staff needs consistent training (some are great, some need to improve) - Room rates a bit too expensive

The Hotel is on the Dameritz See, easy to reach from Berlin Airport or Berlin Center by public transport. The location is absolutely wonderful! Get a room on the lake side - the rooms are spacious, very clean. The service is discreet and efficient. The hotel restaurant offers great dishes. And if you want, you can cross the road and there is an excellent Cambodian restaurant just 1 minute from the hotel on foot.
